"There is nothing which has yet been contrived by man, by which so much happiness is produced as by a good tavern or inn" - Dr Samuel Johnson.
We always endeavour to ensure that Dr Johnson’s words ring true as far as The Folly at Napton is concerned.
Can you help us with our history ?
So far we found a Stephen Winkless in 1841, described as the Publican of the Napton Folly … we don't have a photograph, so we don't know if he sported a moustache, but would like to think so!
